Message from the People of God

Let me introduce myself to you, I am Pastor Ayres of Transfiguration Baptist Church located at 38th St. & Fairmount Ave. in West Philadelphia, and these people are some of my sheep.

We are here to introduce you to someone that we think you would love to meet. This person can be anybody you want Him to be; your father, mother, wife, lover, doctor, lawyer or just a friend. Before we meet Him, we were all once in you shoes. We felt as if we had nowhere to go and no one to talk with. We were just wandering from one day to another. Time really had no true meaning to us. But when we met this man, He already knew everything about us. Knowing this, He took us in His arms and welcomed us just like a lost child returning home. This man is Jesus Christ, who was sent to us thru God, His father. He made you a child and joint heir to all His riches. And like a good father, He takes great care of His children. He protects comforts, provides, teaches, nurtures, guides, loves and desires your well being. He has already paid the debt for our sins, so you are now free to worship Christ and get to know Him. If you will let Him, He will do the impossible in your life. He will fill your life with joy, peace and blessings that comes for the Almighty God.

If you would like to get to know Jesus for yourself, please go to your nearest center or Bible-believing church where the Bible is taught as the final authority.

"For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk upright. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee." Psalm 84:11-12

"message" included in bagged lunch (bottle of water, sandwich, chips) given to the homeless

open letter reply:

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for the sandwich, bag of chips, and bottle of water (Friday, Sept. 14, 9 p.m.). It is very much appreciated.

Also, though not a Christian, I have read many of the "pamplets" given to those living on the street and found your note/message very heartwarming and welcoming. Although scripture says good deeds alone will not get you into heaven/save a person, I think your deeds speak very well of you.

Sincerely,

A Homeless Person
